Like rolling rocks Be on the move Every turn and tumble Your position to improve Even when removed From a peak real high Keep on progressing And never say die This poem was motivated by an actual experience of seeing rocks rolling down a hill while driving through a rain storm.

Gravity tries to pull things to the center of the earth. The ground, however, usually gets in the way (good thing too). If the ground is sloped, like on the sides of a hill, the object being pulled at by gravity (a ball for example) can get closer to the center of the earth by rolling to the bottom of the hill.   Rolling Harvey down the hill - Duration: lkmcswee views. "Rolling Harvey Down the Hill" is a group of poems that tell stories from the author's childhood. The humor Jack Prelutsky's depicts in his childhood tales remind me of some of Bill Cosby's childhood stories. As a teacher I have read this book to children aged 2nd-5th grade and I have also read it to my own children.5/5(5).

"Rolling Harvey down the Hill" is full of very cleverly written rhyming poems. Instead of a collection of random poems, this book is almost written in sequential order that tells a story. In this book, we meet 5 best friends and learn all about each of their personalities (except the narrator)/5.

Rolling Harvey Down the Hill Prelutsky Submitter: This is another children’s book that was initially pulled because of its condition.

It has had a lot of circulation since it was acquired in but only 2 circulations in 20 years. On closer inspection, the book sent up all kinds of red flags. I’m a big fan of poetry, and Jack Prelutsky’s book “Rolling Harvey Down the Hill” certainly didn’t disappoint. The thing I like best about this book is the style of 4/5(1).
